Unit Conversion in Flownex SE
The unit conversion feature in Flownex SE allows users to globally and locally change between various unit systems. Users can change the preferred system of units at any time and the conversion can be implemented for a specific input/result or the entire project. Flownex is shipped with 3 Standard unit systems; Metric (SI), Imperial (British & American) and Flownex Standard. The user friendly GUI allows users to easily and quickly create and implement unique unit systems.
Local Unit Conversion
Local unit conversion changes units for specific inputs and results in a simulation; the conversion drop down list is available for all input and result properties in Flownex SE.
Unit Conversion on Input Pages
Unit conversion is available for all the relevant input properties, users can change the units at any time and Flownex will convert the input data from the original unit specification.
For example; if 1350 rpm is specified for a pump speed, the user can select the drop down list and choose from a wide range of possible conversions, if we choose rad/s Flownex will convert 1350 rpm to 141.37 rad/s.
Unit Conversion for Results
Unit conversion is available for all the relevant results, users can switch between various units for specific results in the properties window.
For example; if 1458 kPa is calculated as the outlet pressure of a pump, the user can select the drop down list and choose from a wide range of possible conversions, if we choose bar Flownex will convert 1458 kPa to 211.56 psi
Unit Conversion for Charts
Unit conversion is available for all the relevant chart and lookup table inputs, users can create and edit existing charts and choose between various units for chart inputs and data.
Global Unit Conversion
Global unit conversion changes the unit system for the entire project, therefore enabling users to select any preferred unit system and perform the network specifications in terms of the selected unit system.
